Non-Surgical Interventional Procedures

Balloon Angioplasty: Used to open narrowed blood vessels (e.g., in conditions like coarctation of the aorta). A balloon-tipped catheter is inserted into the blood vessel and inflated to widen the area. Balloon Valvuloplasty: Treats valve stenosis (narrowing of heart valves). A catheter with a balloon is used to stretch and open the stiff or narrowed valve. Device Closure for Septal Defects: Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) closures can be done using a special device inserted via a catheter to close the hole in the heart. Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) Closure: A device is implanted to close the ductus arteriosus, which normally closes shortly after birth but remains open in some cases. Stent Implantation: Used to support and keep open narrowed blood vessels in conditions such as pulmonary artery stenosis or coarctation of the aorta. Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA): A treatment for certain types of arrhythmias. A catheter delivers energy (radiofrequency) to destroy abnormal heart tissue responsible for the arrhythmia.
